Our initiatives

In the heart of Akhegavan and the neighboring villages in Palghar, where access to medical facilities is limited, the Shikhar Youth Foundation has become a beacon of hope, year after year, through their annual Medical Camp. This noble initiative is a testament to their commitment to promoting good health and well-being among communities facing numerous health challenges.

With limited access to healthcare resources, the residents of these villages often grapple with health issues that go unaddressed. Shikhar Youth Foundation recognized this gap and decided to take healthcare services directly to the doorstep of those in need. The annual Medical Camp has become a lifeline for almost 250 villagers, providing them with essential healthcare services they would otherwise struggle to access.

Empowering Adivasi women of Palghar through diya painting — where tradition meets livelihood.

The women who once tilled the soil now bring light. Their hands, rooted in the earth, craft hand-painted diyas that illuminate homes and hearts. Each diya sold not only celebrates our culture but also supports a life, a family, and a future.

In the quiet villages where schools are miles away, children often walk barefoot for hours. Many students, drop out due to the long, unsafe journey. The distribution of bicycles has changed that. With cycles, students now ride to school with dignity, speed, and safety, reclaiming their right to education. Alongside, warm sweaters offer them comfort in winter’s chill, allowing them to study without shivering in silence. These small acts are powerful steps toward a brighter, more equal tomorrow.

School painting and toilet repairs

A clean and vibrant school environment fosters positivity, regular attendance, and a sense of pride among children. As part of strengthening basic infrastructure in rural schools, activities like classroom painting and toilet repairs have been undertaken by us in various schools. These efforts not only beautified the learning spaces but also promoted hygiene, dignity, and student well-being especially for girl students.
