Trupti – A Little Fighter, A Living Miracle
On 8th January 2023, during a medical camp organized by us in Akegavhan Village, Palghar, a young couple walked in, carrying their 2.5-month-old baby girl “Trupti”. At first glance, she was like any other infant. But as we looked closer, we noticed something rare: Trupti had a cleft palate, a congenital condition characterized by a gap in the upper lip or roof of the mouth, which makes feeding and speech difficult. It was a sight that stirred our hearts, but even more powerful was the quiet hope in her parents' eyes.
We knew we had to act.
Back in Mumbai, we began a search for the best possible solution. After days of research and countless calls, we discovered that Raheja Hospital in Mahim conducts cleft surgeries under its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). Without wasting a moment, we reached out to them and began the journey toward her healing.
The treatment was not a single-step process. It involved lip correction before the age of one, followed by palate repair after she turns one 1year old. With patience, determination, several follow-ups, a number of trips to the hospital, and the expertise of Raheja's compassionate team of doctors, both surgeries were conducted successfully.
Watching Trupti heal and grow became a shared joy for all of us at SYF. From a baby who struggled to drink milk due to her condition, she transformed into a vibrant little girl who can now eat like any other child. Her journey from fragility to strength inspired everyone around her.
Trupti walked into our lives like an angel, with silent strength, boundless resilience, and the power to unite everyone in purpose. Her parents' unwavering faith pushed us to go the extra mile, and their courage reminded us why we do what we do.
Today, Trupti is not just a success story.
She is SYF’s symbol of hope.
After Trupti, 7 more surgeries of such babies were done by us. Trupti’s father Uttam, has been a great support to us in convincing and preparing the other parents of such babies for their journey.
